I’m Amy Miller, and I’ll be your Guide on your Hero’s Journey.

I know firsthand how disorienting major life transitions can be—whether it’s a change in location, career, relationships, worldview, or even identity. I’ve lived it, navigated it, and helped others do the same for over seventeen years.

I’ve moved 23 times and lived in three countries on three continents. Through it all, I’ve learned how to turn uncertainty into opportunity and transition into transformation. Since 2008 I’ve helped people process their time abroad as a professional.

Expat returning home

Why doesn’t home feel the same?

Does this sound like you?

  • You feel confused because your time abroad feels like a chapter that doesn’t quite fit into the main storyline of your life.

  • You feel misunderstood because you’ve changed in ways that are hard to explain—your perspective, values, and even your identity.

  • You feel like a stranger in your old life—caught between two worlds, not quite at home anywhere.

  • You feel invisible—like no one cares about your story or sees how much you’ve changed.

  • You feel stuck—unsure of your next steps and frustrated that no one warned you how hard this would be.

  • If you’re feeling disoriented, disconnected, or struggling to communicate your experiences to others, it’s a good sign you could benefit from our courses or coaching. Each process is designed to meet you where you are, allowing for growth at your own pace.

  • The self-paced courses are designed for you to go at your own speed.

In our coaching cohorts, we will have coaching calls lasting 60-75 minutes. To make the most of these sessions, please plan to dedicate at least 30-60 minutes per week to "homework" in preparation.

  • Your time living abroad no doubt changed you. Even if you have been back in your home country for years, processing your experiences and stepping into the invitation to transformation can only lead to a clearer future.

  • While friends and family are valuable, they may not fully understand the depth of your experience or reverse culture shock. Debriefing with a professional provides a safe space with someone who truly gets the complexities of expat life and can guide you through intentional reflection and growth.

  • The length of time abroad doesn’t determine the emotional impact of the experience. Whether you’ve been away for a few months or many years, reentry can be disorienting, and our resources can help you regain your footing.

  • The Hero’s Journey is a universal framework for transformation and overcoming challenges. It helps expats view their experience as part of a larger narrative, making sense of the trials, lessons, and ultimate transformation they’ve undergone.
