Step Into Your Hero Journey

Transform your repatriation challenges into opportunities for growth and resilience

No One Told You That Moving Back Home Would Feel Like This

Often people get blind-sided by reverse culture shock—the cognitive dissonance, conflicting feelings, frustration, and loneliness when they return home.

Additionally, coming home isn’t just about returning. It’s about integrating who you’ve become with where you are now. And that’s not always easy.

The Hero’s Journey Coaching Cohort gives you the guidance and support to make sense of this transition.

Join our next group cohort to transform your experience abroad into a life of clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Repatriation isn’t just a return—it’s a transformation. Make it a journey worth taking.

You’ve returned home but home isn’t the same…and neither are you

Does this sound like you?

  • You feel confused because your time abroad feels like a chapter that doesn’t quite fit into the main storyline of your life. You're left wondering...what was it all for?

  • You feel misunderstood because you’ve changed in ways that are hard to explain—your perspective, values, and even your identity.

  • You feel like a stranger in your old life—caught between two worlds, not quite at home anywhere.

  • You feel invisible—like no one cares about your story or sees how much you’ve changed.

  • You feel stuck—unsure of your next steps and frustrated that no one warned you how hard this would be.

You’re not lost—you’re in transition.

You don’t have to figure this out alone

I’m Amy Beth Miller, and I’ll be your Guide on your Hero’s Journey.

I know firsthand how disorienting major life transitions can be—whether it’s a change in location, career, relationships, worldview, or even identity. I’ve lived it, navigated it, and helped others do the same.

I’ve moved 23 times and lived in three countries on three continents. Through it all, I’ve learned how to turn uncertainty into opportunity and transition into transformation. Since 2008 I’ve helped people process their time abroad as a professional debriefer and transition coach.

Through guided debriefing, coaching, and a supportive community, you’ll process your experiences, clarify what’s next, and step into your future with confidence.

With the right guidance, this transition can be the most powerful step yet in your journey.

Why the Hero’s Journey?

In every great story, the hero embarks on an adventure, faces challenges, and returns forever changed.

But returning is often the hardest part. The hero must find a way to integrate what they’ve learned, reconnect with their world, and step into their new identity with confidence.

Repatriation isn’t just a return; it’s a transformation. And like any great adventure, it comes with obstacles, moments of doubt, and the opportunity for profound growth.

I’ve created an exclusive 3 month program, based on Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, which gives you a structured, proven framework to navigate your transition with confidence.

“The only way out is through and the only wan through is together.” ~John Green

You Have Questions. We Have Answers.

FAQs

  • If you’re feeling disoriented, disconnected, or struggling to communicate your experiences to others, it’s a good sign you could benefit from debriefing. The process is designed to meet you where you are, allowing for growth at your own pace.

  • During the three months, we will have 10 90-minute coaching calls and 2 personal one-on-one calls. To prepare for your coaching calls, there is a companion course with reflection questions and activities. Not all of the work is required, but expect to put in at least 30-60 minutes per week in “homework.”

  • Your time living abroad no doubt changed you. Even if you have been back in your home country for years, processing your experiences and stepping into the invitation to transformation can only lead to a clearer future.

  • While friends and family are valuable, they may not fully understand the depth of your experience or reverse culture shock. Debriefing with a professional provides a safe space with someone who truly gets the complexities of expat life and can guide you through intentional reflection and growth.

  • The length of time abroad doesn’t determine the emotional impact of the experience. Whether you’ve been away for a few months or many years, reentry can be disorienting, and our resources can help you regain your footing.

  • The Hero’s Journey is a universal framework for transformation and overcoming challenges. It helps expats view their experience as part of a larger narrative, making sense of the trials, lessons, and ultimate transformation they’ve undergone.
